A. The budget deficit is how much a govt spends more than it buys. The trade deficit is how much the country buys from abroad vs what the country sells. If a govt spends less, then a budget deficit is reduced. If that spending is translated into less buying from abroad then, the trade deficit drops. Its a lot more complicated than that in the real world.
